About Nixie & Millclock
A Nixie clock displays digits using sealed glass tubes with cathodes shaped like numbers. A low-power glow discharge lights one digit at a time, creating a crisp, retro look.
ZIN-70 is our largest tube family with bolder, taller numerals; ZIN-18 is more compact for smaller desks. Both support the same core electronics and features.
They are safe for normal use and not radioactive. Tubes are sealed and contain small amounts of inert gases (e.g., neon/argon).
Our ZIN-series tubes (ZIN-70, ZIN-18) are newly manufactured. Some legacy models use selected vintage tubes (e.g., IN-14) where specified.

Yes. Most models sync time via Wi-Fi and can be configured with our iOS/Android app (brightness, time format, effects, night mode).
Yes. A timekeeping backup preserves the clock time during short interruptions.
Uneven digit usage can dim seldom-used cathodes. Our “slot-machine” night routines periodically cycle digits to keep them healthy.
Yes. ZIN-series clocks are serviceable: tubes and sockets can be replaced by an experienced user or by our service.
Yes. Our standard adapter accepts 110–240 V AC input; the clock itself runs on low-voltage DC (typically 12 V/1 A). Plug type is matched to your region when possible.
Yes. You can set brightness levels and schedule night mode in the app.
Operation is silent; heat output is minimal.

Clocks ship in protective packaging with foam inserts and separate protection for glass covers and tubes where applicable.
